This penthouse <\/a>apartment with panoramic views across London is on the 38th floor of the Strata skyscraper, which was the city\u2019s tallest residential building when it was completed in 2010.<\/p>\n

Upon entering the two-bedroom apartment, \u201cyou\u2019re struck immediately by these views, which are just phenomenal,\u201d said listing agent Robin Chalk, of Anderson Rose. \u201cThere is not much else that is that height, so you have all of London below you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see the hills that surround London to the north, and the hills to the south as well,\u201d he said. \u201cYou can see the nearby Shard, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, all of the major attractions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStrata is one of the flagship buildings of Elephant and Castle,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In the 43-story building, the penthouses are from the 36th floor upwards, and they were finished to a higher specification than the lower floors, with higher ceilings and air conditioning, according to the listing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The apartment, which originally had three bedrooms, has had a \u201cwonderful refurbishment\u201d by the sellers, who bought it in 2019, Chalk said. By removing a bedroom from what is now the main reception room, \u201cthey created an extra-large living space and soundproofed that room.\u201d<\/p>\n

It features a living room with floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the views, a dining area and an open-plan kitchen with integrated appliances.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey spent quite a bit of money on the principal suite,\u201d adding automated floor-to-ceiling blackout curtains and an updated walk-through dressing room\/closet that leads into the new primary en suite, Chalk said. \u201cIt really feels like a five-star hotel.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sellers lived in the apartment during the pandemic, and the second bedroom has a fully outfitted work-from-home space, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Elephant and Castle area, which is in south London in the borough of Southwark, \u201cis going through this incredible regeneration project,\u201d Chalk said. \u201cAll of these luxury apartment buildings are popping up all around the area\u201d along with restaurants, cafes, retail buildings, parks and food markets. \u201cLots of young people are living there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is also now one of London\u2019s trendiest new places to live, having received a huge amount of investment,\u201d according to the listing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an area that was traditionally not very desirable,\u201d Chalk said. \u201cIt\u2019s brilliantly located. It\u2019s a 10-minute walk to Waterloo Station, and from there you can get to pretty much everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
