GLP-1 drugs have transformed the lives of many Massachusetts residents<\/a> who have long struggled to lose weight. But the pricey medications are about to get harder for some people to afford. <\/p>\n

Starting on Jan. 1, several of the state\u2019s biggest health insurers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts<\/a> and Point32Health<\/a>, will no longer cover GLP-1s when they are prescribed for weight loss. The insurers will, however, give large employers the option of paying extra to continue covering the weight-loss drugs for their workers.<\/p>\n

Now that open enrollment for health insurance has started<\/a>, the Globe is looking for workers at large employers that have opted not to cover GLP-1s anymore.
