I\u2019m still in shock,\u201d Ejae said with emotion in her voice. Ami was also visibly tearful, admitting she hadn\u2019t stopped crying: \u201cIt this feels out of this world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNuna said the nominations were an honor, but it was the representation that was important: \u201cYou\u2019re going to see three Korean faces. To think about the kids who are going to see that, and hopefully for that to shape their understanding of what they can do in this world, is the stuff that is giving me chills up my spine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tEjae, who made history as the first Korean-American female songwriter to be nominated for song of the year, admitted she felt some \u201cimposter syndrome.\u201d Ami added: \u201cAs Korean women, we were often told we have to work twice as hard, we have to show up earlier, we have to show out more than our average counterparts in order for us to receive the same accolade or even recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe song of the year category is wide in range as \u201cGolden\u201d competes with \u201cAbracadabra\u201d by Lady Gaga, \u201cAnxiety\u201d by Doechii, \u201cAPT.\u201d by Ros\u00e9 and Bruno Mars, \u201cDtMF\u201d by Bad Bunny, \u201cLuther\u201d by Kendrick Lamar with SZA, \u201cManchild\u201d by Sabrina Carpenter, and \u201cWildflower\u201d by Billie Eilish. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cGolden\u201d also competes with \u201cDefying Gravity\u201d (Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande), \u201cGabriela\u201d (Katseye), \u201cApt.\u201d (Ros\u00e9, Bruno Mars) and \u201c30 For 30\u2033 (SZA with Kendrick Lamar)\u201d for best pop duo\/group performance. In the visual media category, \u201cGolden\u201d is up against \u201cAs Alive As You Need Me To Be\u201d (Nine Inch Nails), \u201cI Lied to You\u201d (Miles Caton), \u201cNever Too Late\u201d (Elton John, Brandi Carlile), \u201cPale, Pale Moon\u201d (Jayme Lawson) and \u201cSinners\u201d (Leonard Denisenko, Rodarius Green, Travis). <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs for whom Huntr\/x is looking forward to seeing at the show next year, their response was \u201call of the above,\u201d to their fellow song of the year nominees. \u201cAnd Sabrina Carpenter. I love Sabrina Carpenter,\u201d added Ami.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHowever, despite industry expectations and heavy awards buzz, the track missed a nod for record of the year, a category many believed it would secure. A nom there would have made history, marking Huntr\/x as the first K-pop group ever recognized in that field.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSince its debut on Netflix in June, the film became the streamer\u2019s most popular movie of all time. Meanwhile, three of its original songs \u2014 \u201cGolden,\u201d \u201cYour Idol\u201d and \u201cSoda Pop\u201d \u2014 have been mainstays on Billboard\u2019s Hot 100 chart. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d has been such a phenomenon that the theatrical-averse Netflix decided to bring a sing-along version of the film to theaters for fan events in August and October. During the first go-around, \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d topped the box office with roughly $18 million over two days.
