Viewers tuning in to \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d on Thursday night were met with a surprise \u2014 a rerun instead of a new broadcast that was supposed to feature actor David Duchovny, \u201cStranger Things\u201d star Joe Keery and pop singer Madison Beer.<\/p>\n

The chanteuse confirmed on Instagram that her appearance had been postponed.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to unforeseen circumstances, @jimmykimmellive needed to reschedule my performance that was originally scheduled to air tonight to a later date,\u201d Beer wrote in a post around 7 p.m. ET Thursday.<\/p>\n

Neither Duchovny nor Keery addressed the change.<\/p>\n

News of the rerun of an Oct. 28 episode inside of a new installment of the show was reported by the Daily Beast.<\/a><\/p>\n

The show\u2019s official social media accounts made no mention of the schedule change. ABC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

Entertainment site LateNighter reported the delay<\/a> was related to \u201ca personal matter,\u201d though it did not have any details.<\/p>\n

On Reddit, one user shared what appeared to be an email<\/a> from the show\u2019s audience office reading: \u201cTonight\u2019s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live has been postponed. Apologies for any inconvenience. We will contact you to reschedule for a future taping.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s sudden rerun was the first unscheduled switch-up for Kimmel\u2019s show since he was suspended for several days in September. As of Friday morning, ABC had not announced when new episodes might resume.<\/p>\n

ABC and parent company Disney have continued to weather fallout from earlier controversies surrounding the long-running late-night program.<\/p>\n

Kimmel was briefly suspended after making outrageous remarks<\/a> about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk that drew widespread backlash.<\/p>\n

During a Sept. 15 monologue, the host suggested Kirk\u2019s alleged killer<\/a> was aligned with the \u201cMAGA gang,\u201d a statement he later described as \u201cill-timed or unclear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Disney pulled the show off the air for nearly a week before reinstating Kimmel, who used his return monologue to insist he never intended to \u201cmake light of the murder of a young man.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

While the network cited a desire to \u201cavoid further inflaming a tense situation,\u201d affiliates and advertisers responded sharply \u2014 with some refusing to air the program.<\/a><\/p>\n

Kimmel\u2019s reinstatement came after direct talks with the CEO of ABC\u2019s parent company, Disney, Bob Iger, and Disney Entertainment co-chair Dana Walden, though neither side disclosed any conditions of his return.<\/p>\n
