{"id":171304,"date":"2025-11-09T11:32:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-09T11:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/171304\/"},"modified":"2025-11-09T11:32:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-09T11:32:10","slug":"sesko-scan-results-critical-to-january-transfer-plans-as-flop-eyes-one-last-chance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/171304\/","title":{"rendered":"Sesko scan results critical to January transfer plans as flop eyes one last chance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joshua Zirkzee will be hoping for one more chance to prove himself at Manchester United, as they await the outcome of scans on an injury sustained by Benjamin Sesko that could prove critical to the club\u2019s January transfer plans.<\/p>\n<p>But the Reds would be willing to go into the January market for a forward if the Slovenian striker was to face a lengthy lay-off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/benjamin-sesko\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sesko<\/a> limped off in the 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, and afterwards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/manchester-united\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Man Utd<\/a> boss Ruben Amorim admitted: \u201cHe has something in his knee, so let\u2019s see. We think he has a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There is hope the issue is not going to leave him sidelined for a significant period of time, and scan results will quickly give the club a better idea of the situation they face.<\/p>\n<p>Even if the player is given good news, his injury scare highlights the lack of depth United face in the central striker position.<\/p>\n<p>United are primarily looking at long-term signings for the new year but have had an open mind about new goalscoring prospects that become available in the market.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, that stance was taken in case there is a suitable offer that arrives for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/joshua-zirkzee\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zirkzee<\/a>. Liverpool icon to leave; Tottenham star eyed by Real Madrid<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Man Utd striker options \u2013 if Sesko is sidelined<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Currently United would have Zirkzee and Matheus Cunha as main figures most likely to fill in as centre-forward, though Mason Mount has also been used.<\/p>\n<p>This will be seen as an opportunity for Zirkzee to prove himself \u2013 but the problem is that Amorim does not see him as the style of player he would ideally like in that role.<\/p>\n<p>Amorim rates Zirkzee as a player but has found it hard to fit him into his system \u2013 and he is not willing to change the setup.<\/p>\n<p>Still, this could be a key period as \u2013 at the very least \u2013 Zirkzee\u2019s chances of game-time would be improved if Sesko is out for a while.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Latest Man Utd news: Endrick chase update;
