After the debut of Fleximart <\/b>on 1 Nov<\/b><\/a>, Pandan Member of Parliament<\/b> Dato\u2019 Seri Mohd Rafizi bin Ramli<\/b> is making good on his promise with the grand opening of Kesum <\/b>on 8 Nov<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both ventures form part of his ongoing effort to cushion Malaysians from the bite of inflation, especially when it comes to the soaring prices of everyday meals.<\/p>\n

\"Fleximart<\/p>\n

Rafizi describes both outlets as part of his \u201csocial experiment\u201d \u2014 stores designed to make basic needs<\/b> and ready-to-eat food<\/b><\/a> more accessible to the public<\/b>. Fleximart, located in Seksyen 7<\/b>, Shah Alam<\/b>, opens daily from 7am to 10pm<\/b> and carries the spirit of an affordable Family Mart.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shelves are lined with budget-friendly groceries<\/b>, while its Flexivending machines<\/b><\/a> serve food under RM5<\/b>. Even coffee <\/b>lovers can grab a decent cup for as low as RM2.90 and no more than RM4<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\"Kesum<\/p>\n

Kesum <\/b>in Pandan Indah<\/b><\/a>, meanwhile, is all about comfort food that doesn\u2019t break the bank. The eatery offers 7 hearty dishes<\/b>, all priced below RM5<\/b> \u2014 from nasi lemak ayam<\/b><\/a> and nasi lemak ayam berempah<\/b> to lempeng <\/b>with gulai ayam<\/b>, fried yellow <\/b>mee<\/b>, and buffalo wings<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"Kesum<\/p>\n

Rafizi explains the idea is to focus on the crowd favourites. \u201cFewer menu items mean lower running costs, and these are dishes Malaysians enjoy at any hour \u2014 breakfast<\/a>, lunch, or dinner,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n

What makes Kesum particularly intriguing is its model \u2014 affordable, straightforward, and replicable. Rafizi revealed that the startup cost for each Kesum outlet is only around RM90K, a fraction of what typical franchise chains require.\u00a0<\/p>\n

True to its name, Kesum is inspired by the local herb but also doubles as an acronym for Kenyang, Sedap, dan Murah \u2014 the very principles that define its value meal concept: filling, flavourful, and fairly priced.<\/p>\n

If the response from Malaysians is encouraging, Rafizi aims to expand Fleximart and Kesum nationwide, creating a new kind of market force \u2014 one that empowers communities and helps curb the rising cost of food.<\/p>\n
