Locals in Guangdong told the Post the subsidies were unlikely to convince them to up their spending \u2013 especially on non-essential items.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Despite the big headline figures, the vouchers often did not provide attractive discounts in practice, they said.
