{"id":173366,"date":"2025-11-10T16:12:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T16:12:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/173366\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T16:12:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T16:12:08","slug":"ms-now-inks-deal-with-accuweather-for-forecasts-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/173366\/","title":{"rendered":"MS NOW Inks Deal with AccuWeather for Forecasts, Data."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAlongside its politics and policy coverage, the soon-to-be-named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/ms-now\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ms-now_1\" data-tag=\"ms-now\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MS NOW<\/a> is making a big bet on the weather.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter has learned that the channel (which will be rebranded from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/msnbc\/\" id=\"auto-tag_msnbc_1\" data-tag=\"msnbc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MSNBC<\/a> on Nov. 15) has inked a multi-year deal with AccuWeather to bring its forecasts, data and meteorologists to MS NOW viewers. The deal makes AccuWeather the preferred weather source for Versant, so CNBC will also be take advantage of the company\u2019s data and forecasts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe partnership will include daily branded segments on Morning Joe\u00a0and Squawk Box, in addition to other coverage as needed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe channel also hired hired\u00a0David Parkinson\u00a0as senior weather and elections data analyst and Moses Small as climate reporter, reinforcing its commitment to weather and climate reporting. MS NOW has had to effectively build a newsgathering operation from scratch in conjunction with its split from NBC News, which took effect last month (Versant\u2019s split from NBCUniversal is on track to happen early next year).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe channel has had to beef up its newsgathering across politics, foreign policy and investigations, and has supplemented that with partnerships, including with Sky News for international coverage. AccuWeather is another example of utilizing a partnership to fill a coverage gap.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe MS NOW studios in Times Square include a virtual reality studio with something akin to a small \u201cVolume\u201d LED backdrop, which is likely to be utilized for weather reporting and forecasts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cAt such a groundbreaking moment for soon-to-be MS NOW, we are proud to continue to expand our reporting capabilities and offerings alongside AccuWeather,\u201d\u00a0MS NOW senior vp newsgathering Scott Matthews said in a statement. \u201cOur network\u2019s mission \u2014 embodied through our new name MS NOW, My Source for News, Opinion and the World \u2014 is to bring our viewers the most-trusted news that they care about.
