{"id":173647,"date":"2025-11-10T19:27:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T19:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/173647\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T19:27:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T19:27:12","slug":"da-demands-billions-in-wasted-spending-be-identified-in-mini-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/173647\/","title":{"rendered":"DA demands billions in wasted spending be identified in mini-budget"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Democratic Alliance (DA) said that instead of signalling new spending plans, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana should use Tuesday\u2019s Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) to announce that he has identified billions in wasted spending.<\/p>\n<p>While the mini-budget is not traditionally when new taxes are announced, DA MP Mark Burke said that his party does not want any such surprises in preparation for the 2026 budget.<\/p>\n<p>The warning comes after a previous battle over tax proposals.
