Picture Dan Linehan<\/p>\nSt Anthony\u2019s were crowned Sciath na Scol F1 football winners with a great win over Gaelscoil U\u00ed R\u00edord\u00e1in at SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh.<\/p>\n
The game started at blistering pace with both sides creating chances early on. Gaelscoil U\u00ed R\u00edord\u00e1in broke the deadlock when Br\u00edan \u00d3 C\u00e9illeachair kicked over a lovely point. This was followed with a fine left-footed strike from Joey \u00d3 hAol\u00e1in.<\/p>\n
A great battle was had by both sides and St Anthony\u2019s were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet following top work by Ardis Berisha, Bryan O\u2019Shaugnessy and Cillian Corkery. Credit to the Gaelscoil, who defended superbly.<\/p>\n
After 12 minutes, St Anthony\u2019s managed to raise a white flag when William Sullivan kicked over from a tight angle and then Corkery added a point.<\/p>\n
Anthony\u2019s got on top and an excellent goal from Tom Russell put them ahead. \u00c9anna Mac Condubh closed the gap but the city side finished stronger and further points from Berisha, Benen O\u2019Flannagan and Bryan O\u2019Shaugnessy gave them a 1-5 to 0-4 lead at the break.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Flannagan opened the scoring in the second half as he fisted over from a tight angle and added another soon after.<\/p>\n
At the other end, Gaelscoil U\u00ed R\u00edord\u00e1in created two glorious goal chances only to be denied by excellent saves from Eoghan Hogan.<\/p>\n
Cathal \u00d3 Dunaigh popped over a free followed by another point from Br\u00edan \u00d3 C\u00e9illeachair but Anthony\u2019s had the upper hand.<\/p>\n
Corkery grabbed his second score followed by Paidi Brophy point and time was running out for the Ballincollig side.<\/p>\n
Jack MacGearailt did manage a late point but time ran out giving St Anthony\u2019s a great win.<\/p>\n

A superb team performance helped Berrings to claim the Sciath na Scol DF7 football title with a win over Blarney at SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh.<\/p>\n
A good start from Berrings saw them score 0-2 in the opening five minutes. Tommy Olden with the first point while Feidhlim Holland added a second.<\/p>\n
They had a great chance to widen the gap when Dan Joe Casey struck superbly at the goal but was denied by a great save from Giacomo Melino.<\/p>\n
Berrings enjoyed most of the possession with some lovely passages of play involving Daniel and Harry O\u2019Leary and Feidhlim and Fionnan Holland. However, they failed to score during that period due to the solid defending from Blarney.<\/p>\n

With five minutes remaining in the half, Blarney got on top and a superb strike from Fionn Lynch put them ahead. A short-lived lead as Berrings got the equaliser through the impressive Tommy Olden to tie it up at the break.<\/p>\n
A perfect start to the second half from Berrings saw them take the lead. A point apiece from Olden and Feidhlim Holland and a great goal from Harry O\u2019Farrell gave them a six-point lead.<\/p>\n
Credit to Blarney, who battled hard, driven on by Harry Fitzgerald, Josh Hassett and Jake O\u2019Leary. Both Hassett and Fitzgerald were denied goalscoring chances when both their efforts hit the woodwork.<\/p>\n
Blarney kept at it and Fitzgerald richly deserved his first score of the game when he kicked over from close range. He had another goal chance but this time he was denied with an excellent save from Harry Blair.<\/p>\n
Berrings worked really well as a team which resulted in their last score when the excellent Feidhlim Holland kicked over from 20 yards, giving his school a comfortable victory in the end.<\/p>\n
Well done to both schools on a great sporting game.<\/p>\n

An unbelievable ending saw Blarney clinch the Sciath na Scol DGF7 football title with a Muireann Roche goal in added time against Clondrohid at Supervalu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh.<\/p>\n
It was a game of two halves, with Clondronhid dominating the first while Blarney were exceptional in the second half.<\/p>\n
Clondrohid opened the scoring when Emily Kelleher kicked over past a crowded box.<\/p>\n
Blarney got the equaliser soon after when vice-captain Sophie Richmond converted a free.<\/p>\n
Two quick-fire goals from Clondrohid\u2019s Lily McDonagh gave them a huge lead.<\/p>\n

Blarney battled hard and closed the gap when Richmond kicked over a lovely point.<\/p>\n
McDonagh added another point to her tally, giving her school a 2-2 to 0-2 lead at the break.<\/p>\n
Blarney opened the scoring in the second half when captain Daisy Mai Turbridy kicked over a lovely point.<\/p>\n
At the other end, Clondrohid had a great goalscoring chance only for Myah Downey watched as her effort rattled the crossbar.<\/p>\n
Blarney used their physical advantage in this period. A great run from Richmond, ended with the ball buried into the roof of the net to make it 2-2 to 1-3.<\/p>\n
Blarney were on top and had a lot of possession with Turbridy and Richmond a real threat going forward.<\/p>\n
Superb defending, in particular from Emma Bradley, kept them at bay for the remaining 10 minutes.<\/p>\n
With time almost up and Clondrohid two points ahead, despite not scoring in the second half, it looked like they\u2019d collect the cup.<\/p>\n
Blarney piled on the pressure and were denied by a phenomenal save from Grace O\u2019Sullivan in the dying moments.<\/p>\n
They kept going and Roche proved to be the hero four minutes into added time when her effort hit the back of the net, much to the joy of their huge support.<\/p>\n
The final whistle blew and while it was heartbreak for Clondrohid, there were scenes of celebrations from the Blarney players and coaching staff.<\/p>\n
Well done to both sides on a really competitive and hard-fought battle.<\/p>\n

Gaelscoil na Duglaise proved too strong for a gallant Watergrasshill side as they claimed the Sciath na Scol GF2 football title at SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh.<\/p>\n
Gaelscoil na Duglaise opened the scoring after five minutes of play when Tessa N\u00ed Riain\u2019s effort hit the back of the net. They could have doubled their lead after great work involving Ava N\u00ed Chinnseamh\u00e1in, Anna Mae Ni Choile\u00e1in and Aoibheann Ni Ghaoithin but solid defending from Watergrasshill kept them at bay.<\/p>\n

Watergrasshill battled hard and richly deserved their first score through Lucy O\u2019Connell from long range. At the other end, N\u00ed Riain got her second goal.<\/p>\n
The Hill responded with a well-taken goal by O\u2019Connell to leave them behind by two points, 2-0 to 1-1, at the break.<\/p>\n
Ava N\u00ed Chinnseamh\u00e1in opened the scoring in the second half after a great pass from Alanna Ni Chroim\u00edn. This was followed by a N\u00ed Riain point after good work from Ni Chinnseamhain.<\/p>\n
Abigail N\u00ed Chadla was solid rock solid, frustrating the Watergrasshill attack.<\/p>\n
N\u00ed Chinnseamh\u00e1in grabbed her second point to make it 2-3 to 1-1 but Watergrasshill worked hard and Cialadh Healy point over a crowded square.<\/p>\n
Both teams battled really hard throughout but an overall great team performance from Gaelscoil na Duglaise helped them to victory.<\/p>\n
