Reflecting on Ozzy\u2019s hospitalisation.<\/p>\n<p>While they didn\u2019t reveal why Ozzy was hospitalised in that instance, Sharon turned to Jack with a funny story: \u201cThe story, I don\u2019t think even you know it, we had him in the hospital and we were just terrified that people were going to find out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we had all the security and the hospital \u2013 the hospital was amazing, they really were \u2013 the people at the front desk were told \u2018nobody, if they ask for Ozzy, he\u2019s not here. Nobody\u2019s allowed up\u2019, all of that. They had pictures of all of us who were allowed up, and names, and this guy comes up and says \u2018I want to see John Osbourne (Ozzy\u2019s legal name)\u2019 so of course there\u2019s a red light and they go \u2018who are you?\u2019 and he goes \u2018I\u2019m his brother.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo they call up to the security, and they say \u2018Ozzy\u2019s brother is here,&#8217;\u201d Sharon continued. \u201c\u2018He\u2019s asked to see him. He knows he\u2019s here.\u2019 I\u2019m like, there\u2019s no way, his brother doesn\u2019t even know he\u2019s in here. His sisters, his brother didn\u2019t know. So I sent security down and I said \u2018find out who this guy is, he\u2019s definitely from the press.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re not the most polite in the world, they\u2019re the most threatening. This guy kept saying \u2018He\u2019s my brother, he knows I\u2019m coming.\u2019 After harassing this poor man, there was [another] John Osbourne in the hospital, and it was his brother. We felt so terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Osbourne had experienced a number of health issues in recent years, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/ozzy-osbourne-thought-he-was-dying-after-suffering-fall-earlier-this-year-2562631\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a 2019 fall that aggravated an earlier spinal injury<\/a>, requiring numerous surgeries. Credit: Ross Halfin<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Jack Osbourne\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/black-sabbaths-final-show-became-living-wake-for-ozzy-osbourne-says-son-jack-3897757\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said the final Black Sabbath show became a \u201cliving wake\u201d for his late father Ozzy Osbourne.<\/a> Speaking to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=A5Us8aOgyk4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Good Morning America<\/a>\u00a0he shared his memories of being present for the final show. \u201cBefore he went on stage, I ran back into the dressing room and I just gave him a big hug and I just kissed him and I just said, \u2018Crush it, you\u2019re going to do so good\u2019,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in the crowd and I was with my brother and we both were just crying \u2013 it wasn\u2019t because of feeling sorry for him, it wasn\u2019t because we were sad for him, I think it was because we knew it was the last time\u2026In hindsight, it kind of was a living wake, if you think about it. He got to say goodbye to everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The final stage of Osbourne\u2019s life has been captured in the new BBC documentary Sharon &amp; Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, which is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer for UK viewers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/iplayer\/episode\/m002hgzz\/sharon-ozzy-osbourne-coming-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In poignant scenes at the end of the doc,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/ozzy-osbourne-reflected-on-emotional-yet-terribly-frustrating-final-show-for-new-bbc-doc-3896980\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ozzy reflects on the experience of playing in front of 44,000 people for one final time<\/a>. \u201cThe only thing I really got\u2026 what was terribly frustrating for me, I had to sit there instead of running across the stage,\u201d he said. \u201cThat was fucking torture, because I wanted to get off that [chair] so much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cIt was very humbling, to sit in that chair for nine songs.
