Andrew and Charles&#8217; negotiations over fate of the girls &#8211; plus the twist no one saw coming, revealed to RICHARD EDEN by the insiders who know what&#8217;s REALLY going on"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">What was it that persuaded Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, as he is now known, to <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13584927\/King-Charles-wants-rent-Windsor-Royal-Lodge-1m-year-Prince-Andrew-first.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">move out of Royal Lodge, his 30-room \u2018palace\u2019 at Windsor and accept the loss of his titles and honours, too<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Andrew had a \u2018cast-iron\u2019 legal right to remain at Royal Lodge until 2078 and had resisted months of relentless pressure from elder brother <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/king-charles-iii\/index.html\" id=\"mol-bc802660-c07f-11f0-b582-e544f347b8ba\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">King Charles<\/a>. Until last month, that is, when he finally caved in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">True, the King had agreed to find a new home for Andrew on the private royal estates and provide him with financial compensation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Yet there was more to it than that. For I can reveal that it was made clear to Andrew that, while his ex-wife <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/sarah-ferguson-duchess-of-york\/index.html\" id=\"mol-bc9d4b50-c07f-11f0-b582-e544f347b8ba\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sarah Ferguson<\/a> would also lose her title, there would be no action taken against their daughters, <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/princess-beatrice\/index.html\" id=\"mol-bc94e6e0-c07f-11f0-b582-e544f347b8ba\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Princess Beatrice<\/a> and <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/princess-eugenie\/index.html\" id=\"mol-bc953500-c07f-11f0-b582-e544f347b8ba\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Princess Eugenie<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Both would retain the title of princess, even though their father can no longer style himself prince.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Andrew was told that both women would also retain their places in the line of succession to the throne &#8211; ninth in Beatrice\u2019s case and 12th in Eugenie\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-45e5c761c2c52d7b\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/103846083-0-image-a-18_1763031091382.jpg\" height=\"573\" width=\"634\" alt=\"Andrew and King Charles at the Duchess of Kent's funeral in September\" class=\"blkBorder img-share\" style=\"max-width:100%\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>   <\/p>\n<p class=\"imageCaption\">Andrew and King Charles at the Duchess of Kent&#8217;s funeral in September<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Beatrice, 37, would also remain one of seven Counsellors of State legally entitled to stand in for the King if he cannot undertake his official duties due to temporary illness or absence abroad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">There is, however, another aspect of this \u2018secret deal\u2019 between the King and his brother Andrew that I can now disclose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">It was agreed that not only would there be no action taken by the King against Beatrice and Eugenie, 35, but they would be allowed to accept new official royal roles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The first evidence of the deal was provided last Friday, barely a week after the King announced that he was stripping Andrew of his titles and honours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Outward Bound, one of the charities most closely associated with the Royal Family, announced that Beatrice had been <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-15270059\/Beatrice-lands-major-charity-role-amid-scandal-engulfing-family-Princess-named-deputy-patron-Outward-Bound-six-years-Andrew-quit-charity-wake-Newsnight-interview.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">appointed as its new Deputy Patron<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The new Royal Patron was her uncle Prince Edward. Both appointments were approved by the King and, in Bea\u2019s case, it was hugely significant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Outward Bound\u2019s figurehead for 65 years had been Prince Philip, until his second son, Prince Andrew, took over as patron of the group, which uses \u2018wild adventure to help young people realise their potential through learning, challenge and discovery in the outdoors\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-7ad11e5a6f6e0b57\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/103681863-15287351-image-m-20_1763031341560.jpg\" height=\"825\" width=\"634\" alt=\"Eugenie and Beatrice in central London, in their first public appearance together since Andrew was stripped of all his royal titles\" class=\"blkBorder img-share\" style=\"max-width:100%\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>   <\/p>\n<p class=\"imageCaption\">Eugenie and Beatrice in central London, in their first public appearance together since Andrew was stripped of all his royal titles<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Emphasising the King\u2019s approval of the appointments, their announcement coincided with an Outward Bound supporters\u2019 event at St James\u2019s Palace, hosted by Edward, who succeeded his father as Duke of Edinburgh, and attended by Beatrice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018With the Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we\u2019re embarking on a new chapter,\u2019 said Martin Davidson, Outward Bound\u2019s chief executive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018One where every young person has the chance to test their limits, build confidence and discover that anything is possible. Their support reflects a shared belief that adventure changes lives.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Outward Bound is not the only good cause with which Beatrice is involved. On Monday, she visited Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to see the charity Borne\u2019s research laboratories and learn more about the organisation\u2019s work to prevent premature birth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Beatrice\u2019s own daughter, Athena, was <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/femail\/article-14530089\/Princess-Beatrice-recalls-overwhelming-fear-premature-birth.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">born prematurely at the hospital in west London and the princess is a patron of Borne.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">With the King\u2019s approval, we can expect more of such public engagements by Beatrice and Eugenie, to the surprise of their critics, who worry that they are <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/royals\/article-14984341\/Princesses-Sordid-revelations-Prince-Andrew-Eugenie-Beatrice-distance-father.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">tainted by the controversies surrounding their parents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The princesses have <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/femail\/article-8845275\/Princesses-Beatrice-Eugenie-suffered-long-lasting-damage-result-parents-split.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">travelled the world with Andrew and Fergie, and have also been drawn into some of their scrapes over the years.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In 2006, for example, Andrew <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-7238769\/Jeffrey-Epstein-threw-party-honor-Prince-Andrew-2010.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">invited his friend, the late millionaire sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein, to Beatrice\u2019s 18th birthday party.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Two years later, the American financier was convicted by a Florida state court of <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-6584581\/Florida-mom-ex-husband-pimped-girl-age-THREE-13-years-drugs.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">procuring a child for prostitution<\/a> and of soliciting a prostitute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Andrew remained friends with Epstein after he was released from prison and <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/debate\/article-7369757\/MICHAEL-COLE-time-Prince-Andrew-came-clean-friendship-Jeffrey-Epstein.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">lied about their relationship in his interview with the BBC\u2019s Newsnight at Buckingham Palace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Questions remain, meanwhile, about a mysterious \u00a3750,000 gift from a Turkish millionairess, which Andrew insisted was for his elder daughter\u2019s wedding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">A High Court case in 2022 heard how Eugenie received \u00a325,000 from the same benefactor, including a \u00a315,000 \u2018birthday gift\u2019 sent almost six months in advance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The King is, however, a fair and magnanimous man who does not believe that his nieces should suffer because of their parents\u2019 behaviour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018It is, perhaps, one of the few things that His Majesty and Andrew agree on,\u2019 a royal source told me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018They both love Beatrice and Eugenie and want the best for them.
