We\u2019ve had incredible support from the people of the region for over three decades. We\u2019ve seen artists grow and flourish, students become teachers, and teachers become artists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the family&#8217;s decision to step down followed the decision of their friend and manager Jane to retire after 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The family felt it was the right moment to step back,\u00a0take stock and we came to this difficult decision,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Silke &#8211; a prominent member of the Limerick City Centre Traders Association &#8211; paid tribute to his staff, past and present.<\/p>\n<p>He said they&#8217;ve been &#8220;the heart\u00a0and soul of the shop, always ready with a smile, advice, or encouragement for anyone who walked through the door.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Silkes,_a_beloved_local_business_that_has_served_the_community_for_generations.-1763032866075.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1139\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In the run up to the Christmas Eve closure, a retirement clearance sale is to take place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRetail has changed so much over the past three decades.\u00a0We\u2019re proud to have served our community, to have been a<br \/>part of such great creativity, and to have shared in so many people\u2019s stories.
