\n\t\u201cShogun<\/a>\u201d star Takehiro Hira<\/a> says he\u2019s only seen one script for Season 2. Even so, he thinks he knows the fate of his character, Ishido Kazunari.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI can\u2019t really talk about that, but you know, the older characters in \u2018Shogun\u2019 loosely follow the actual historical figures. So my guy doesn\u2019t really survive much after the big war, the battle. So my days are numbered,\u201d Hira told me Wednesday night at the premiere of his new Searchlight Pictures dramedy \u201cRental Family\u201d at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI will probably have an honorable death,\u201d he said, before teasing, \u201cBut I could come back as a\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHira was nominated for an Emmy last year for his work on the show in the best supporting actor in a drama series category.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAt almost the same exact time as the \u201cRental Family\u201d premiere carpet opened, FX announced that Season 2 will begin production in January. New additions to the cast include Asami Mizukawa as Aya, Masataka Kubota as Hy\u016bga, Sho Kaneta as Hidenobu, Takaaki Enoki as Lord Ito and Jun Kunimura as G\u014dda.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tReturning stars include returning stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis, as well as Fumi Nikaid\u00f4, Shinnosuke Abe, Hiroto Kanai, Yoriko D\u00f4guchi, Tommy Bastow, Yuko Miyamoto, Eita Okuno and Yuka Kouri.<\/p>\n

\n\tSeason 1 directors Hiromi Kamata (Season 1, Episode 6 \u201cLadies of the Willow World\u201d) and Takeshi Fukunaga (Season 1, Episode 7, \u201cA Stick of Time\u201d) return to direct on the second season. Anthony Byrne, Kate Herron and series co-creator Justin Marks will also direct episodes in Season 2.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to an official logline, \u201cShogun\u201d Season 2 \u201cis set ten years after the events of the first season.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cRental Family\u201d stars Brendan Frazer as an actor living in Japan who finds a job at a rental family agency \u2013 headed by Hira\u2019s character \u2013 assigning him to play various stand-in roles for clients. Hikari directed from a script she co-wrote with Stephen Blahut. Rounding out the cast are Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Mahina Gorman and Akira Emoto.<\/p>\n
