{"id":18056,"date":"2025-08-23T09:35:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-23T09:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/18056\/"},"modified":"2025-08-23T09:35:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-23T09:35:07","slug":"nine-year-old-boy-dies-in-co-donegal-machinery-incident-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/18056\/","title":{"rendered":"Nine-year-old boy dies in Co Donegal machinery incident \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A young boy has died following an incident involving machinery in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/donegal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/donegal\/\">Co Donegal<\/a> on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The child, understood to be nine, died at the scene outside the town of Dungloe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cGarda\u00ed and emergency services responded to a fatal incident at a premises in Dungloe, Co Donegal, yesterday evening, Friday 22nd August 2025,\u201d a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\">Garda<\/a> statement said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cA male child was pronounced deceased at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">His body was removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a postmortem is due to take place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The Health and Safety Authority has been notified and will attend the scene, garda\u00ed said.
