Making it about ships and matcha and hot girl walks &#8211; do better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another critic wrote: \u201cGreat promotional work! Completely undermining women\u2019s sports before you\u2019ve even started! Embarrassing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A third questioned whether dividing audiences by gender was progressive, saying: \u201c\u2018Little sistering\u2019 women\u2019s sports in general seems like a step backwards instead of forwards. A little bit patronising and condescending perhaps? You don\u2019t need to Girlbossify and dumb down \u2018sports content\u2019 in pink glowy text and memes to engage a female audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another said the approach \u201cputs all women who watch sport under the umbrella of fanpage culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sky Sports have defended the launch, announcing Halo on X with the message: \u201cIntroducing Sky Sports Halo \u2013 the lil sis of Sky Sports. A new TikTok channel created specifically for female sports fans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re about ALL sports and championing female athletes\u2026 We don\u2019t just watch sports \u2013 we live it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Halo\u2019s own responses to criticism have been punchy.
