The six-bedroom home spans 6,675 square feet on a half-acre lot and features large paneled windows, stenciled oak ceilings, a walk-in safe in the basement and a large beamed-ceilinged veranda on the second floor overlooking the stone-paved yard and pool deck.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\" data=\"[object Object]\" data-testid=\"paragraph\" class=\"e152o6gh0 css-1hvarng-StyledParagraph\">The architects weren\u2019t the most notable people to have lived at the house.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\" data=\"[object Object]\" data-testid=\"paragraph\" class=\"e152o6gh0 css-1hvarng-StyledParagraph\">Past residents include prodigal guitarist John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, according to information from the Beverly Hills Estates. Public records indicate he lived there in the 2000s. It also served as the Colombian consulate for many years, according to the brokerage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-ad-label css-1ayil5r\" data-testid=\"ad-container-label\">Advertisement &#8211; Scroll to Continue<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\" data=\"[object Object]\" data-testid=\"paragraph\" class=\"e152o6gh0 css-1hvarng-StyledParagraph\">One of the home\u2019s more striking features is a red-tiled hallway with overlapping coved ceilings that runs the length of the home. On one side, arched French doors lead to the stone patio, while the other branches off into main common spaces.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\" data=\"[object Object]\" data-testid=\"paragraph\" class=\"e152o6gh0 css-1hvarng-StyledParagraph\">\u201cThe gallery hall with the double-height windows and French doors going out, that\u2019s a pretty particularly spectacular hallway,\u201d said Watson. \u201cAll rooms open to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\" data=\"[object Object]\" data-testid=\"paragraph\" class=\"e152o6gh0 css-1hvarng-StyledParagraph\">In addition to the main home, there is a two-story building with a three-car garage on the first floor and a full two-bedroom apartment on the second, which includes its own kitchen and laundry room.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\" data=\"[object Object]\" data-testid=\"paragraph\" class=\"e152o6gh0 css-1hvarng-StyledParagraph\">The sellers purchased the property in 2001 for $3.1 million and have maintained many original finishes ever since. That includes the tiled hallway, stenciled oak ceilings in the dining room, clerestory windows in the kitchen that flip open and all the doors.
