‘How many more must die?’ Fury over lack of action at dangerous junction on Limerick road<\/a><\/p>\nA garda spokesperson said the motorcyclist, a male in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene and has since been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe driver of the car, an adult female, was assessed at the scene and did not require immediate hospital treatment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe road at the scene is currently closed to traffic and is being preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.<\/p>\n
“The local Coroner has been notified. Diversions are in place on the R519 between the R520 at Ballykevin and Kilmeedy village,\u201d said a garda spokesperson.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision to contact them.<\/p>\n
\u201cRoad users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from that section of road during the relevant period are also asked to make it available to investigating garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnyone with information is asked to contact Newcastle West garda station on (069) 20650, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station,\u201d said a garda spokesperson.<\/p>\n
