Photo \/ Supplied<\/p>\n<p class=\"wzdDHKkU\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cWyn Anania\u2019s exceptional contributions to the music industry exemplify his passion for M\u0101ori culture and his dedication to preserving te reo M\u0101ori,\u201d a spokesperson for the Waiata M\u0101ori Music Awards Trust said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wzdDHKkU\" style=\"display:none\">Singer and composer Toni Huata, who died earlier this year, was honoured with the lifetime achievement award.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wzdDHKkU\" style=\"display:none\">Active since the late 90s, Huata\u2019s career took flight through her collaboration with Charles Te Ahukaram\u016b Royal, whose album He Tohu Mauriora was the first M\u0101ori language music recorded digitally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wzdDHKkU\" style=\"display:none\">Since then, her work with artists like George Nepia III and Warren Maxwell has continued to leave its mark on M\u0101ori music and performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wzdDHKkU\" style=\"display:none\"><b>&#8211;<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rnz.co.nz\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.rnz.co.nz\/\"><b>RNZ<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Corrella.
