Former Wolves and Reading striker Kevin Doyle has allegedly taken aim at Liverpool<\/a> star Dominik Szoboszlai after the Republic of Ireland’s dramatic win over Hungary.<\/p>\n The 42-year-old, who was working for local station RTE Sports, has been captured wheeling around the studio in celebration before gesturing towards, it is assumed a television showing the match, and calling the Hungarian captain a: “Liverpool c***.”<\/p>\n Troy Parrott sealed his hat-trick in dramatic fashion to keep Ireland’s World Cup dreams alive. The former Tottenham<\/a> Hotspur striker netted in the 96th-minute to secure Heimir Hallgr\u00edmsson’s side a place in the playoffs as they came from 2-1 down to win 3-2.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Thomas Tuchel responds after Jude Bellingham’s angry reaction to England sub<\/a>READ MORE: Jude Bellingham handed fresh England warning after moment at end of Albania win<\/a><\/p>\n Ireland’s unlikely win over Portugal earlier this week ensured they had a glimmer of hope going into Sunday’s showdown in Budapest.<\/p>\n Parrott scored twice in 16 minutes to complete the turnaround and send them into Thursday’s playoff draw, where they can face the likes of Wales, Slovakia, Scotland<\/a>, Czechia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo.<\/p>\n RTE Sport’s X account posted a cut version of Doyle jubilantly racing around the studio, but the full scenes after a dramatic win were captured off-camera and posted to the social media platform X via user @Liam_D79, which shows Doyle running around the studio before gesturing towards the Liverpool midfielder with an x-rated message.<\/p>\n Doyle appears to say: “Suck on that you Liverpool c***,” before apologising to former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann, who was also a pundit for their coverage.<\/p>\n The 42-year-old retired from professional football in 2017 after finishing his career in America’s MLS with Colorado Rapids before moving into punditry, alongside his passion of horse racing<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 25-year-old Liverpool star assisted Daniel Lukacs for the opener inside five minutes before his Reds teammate Milos Kerkez was the provider for Barnabas Varga’s effort to restore the lead after Parrott’s penalty levelled proceedings.<\/p>\n Szoboszlai was inconsolable at full-time after they missed the chance to qualify for the playoffs due to the defeat in the capital. During his post-match interview, he failed to put the disappointment into words, as quoted by local media, he said: “Very much,” in response to how much his heart aches after the defeat.<\/p>\n The Republic of Ireland hero Troy Parrott was equally emotional but for different reasons after his match-winning treble. He told RTE: “Yeah I’m eh…really really emotional right now…sorry.<\/p>\n “They’re tears of joy. What a night. What a night.<\/p>\n “I’d rather have that pressure on me and whatever happens will happen, that to put it on somebody else and leave it out of my hands.<\/p>\n “I can’t believe it. I really can’t believe it.
