Following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/news\/kristen-stewart-chronology-of-water-acquired-sets-release-1236498800\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the Forge has acquired<\/a> North American rights to Stewart\u2019s film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Forge will release the film to theaters in December, followed by a wider rollout in January.\u00a0Imogen Poots stars as Yuknavitch. Rounding out the ensemble cast are Jim Belushi, Thora Birch, Charlie Carrick, Susannah Flood, Kim Gordon and Tom Sturridge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tStewart spent eight years developing \u201cThe Chronology of Water\u201d and said she is grateful the film will be released theatrically with full awards support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cFilms like ours should be birthed onto the screen, and I am grateful we found a team as committed to supporting independent filmmakers as they are,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe film is produced by Charles Gillibert of CG Cinema International; Yulia Zayceva, Max Poklov and Svetlana Punte of Forma Pro Films; Michael Pruss and Rebecca Feuer of Scott Free; Stewart, Maggie McLean and Dylan Meyer of Nevermind Pictures; and Andy Mingo in association with Scott Aharoni, Alihan Yalcindag and Sinan Eczacibasi for Curious Gremlin.
