<\/p>\nThe musical artist (41) posted a statement on his social media on Friday, where he revealed he was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year.<\/p>\n
“After the brain haemorrhage two years ago, it\u2019s not something I ever thought I\u2019d be facing \u2013 but here we are, and I\u2019m taking it one step at a time,\u201d he wrote in a post on Instagram.<\/p>\n
In 2023, Mr Pierce suffered a brain haemorrhage while out on his daily jog.<\/p>\n
The Block Rockin\u2019 Beats presenter has already had two surgeries at the Mater Private in Dublin and is now \u201cfocusing on recovery and the next stage of treatment\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to give my deepest thanks to the amazing medical teams who\u2019ve looked after me, and to my family and friends for their love, strength, and support. I couldn\u2019t do this without them.<\/p>\n
“I also want to say a huge thank you to my bandmates, crew, manager, and everyone at Today FM for standing by me and keeping everything moving while I focus on getting well. Your support means the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mr Pierce said he is sharing his personal story because \u201cit\u2019s important to know that men can get breast cancer too\u201d.<\/p>\n
“If you notice any changes \u2013 a lump, pain, swelling, or anything that doesn\u2019t feel right \u2013 please get it checked. Early diagnosis really does make a difference.<\/p>\n
“This journey has been tough, but I\u2019ve come back before and I\u2019ll come back stronger again. Music is healing, and that will never change. Cancer cannot beat me.\u201d<\/p>\n
The popular DJ confirmed that the schedule of his Block Rockin’ Beats gigs, which are a live stage performance version of his radio show, remains unchanged.<\/p>\n
The Dubliner is due to perform at Dublin\u2019s 3Olympia on December 14, Mayo\u2019s TF Royal in Castlebar on December 28, and Kerry\u2019s Glenagle Arena on December 29.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll see you all next month and well into 2026. Thank you for all your support. It means more than I can ever say,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Messages of support for the DJ have poured into the comment section under his social media post.<\/p>\n
The former RT\u00c9 Radio 1\u2019s Drivetime presenter Sarah McInerney said on Instagram: \u201cDec, I\u2019m so sorry to hear of everything you\u2019ve been through, and I\u2019m sending you all my best wishes in your recovery\u201d.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, RT\u00c9 2FM broadcaster Laura Fox said: \u201cSending you all the love in the world Dec\u201d, while Mr Pierce’s colleague, TodayFM\u2019s DJ Joe Donnelly added: \u201cThe speediest of recoveries Dec\u201d.<\/p>\n
He initially hoped it was just a headache, but the pain was so severe he knew it was much more serious. He\u2019s talked about how his recovery hasn\u2019t come easily so far.<\/p>\n
At 40, while out for a run in 2023, Pierce said he felt an extreme pain that he described as like an explosion inside his head.<\/p>\n
He was diagnosed with a subarachnoid haemorrhage, which is a bleed on the brain, and spent two weeks in the critical care unit in Beaumont Hospital.<\/p>\n
