Ninajirachi is a strong contender for Album of the Year<\/p>\n
Just ask triple j! Ninajirachi just took out two of the national youth broadcaster’s annual J Awards, namely, Australian Music Video of the Year and Australian Album of the Year.<\/p>\n

I Love My Computer is the debut album from Central Coast producer Ninajirachi, or simply Nina Wilson to her parents.<\/p>\n
She’s a two-time triple j Unearthed High finalists who’s been\u00a0making music since she was 12 years old<\/a>. She brands her sound as “girl EDM”\u2014 a playful update on the 2010s electronic dance music genre dominated by men.\u00a0<\/p>\n For my money, I’ve already hailed I Love My Computer as one of the year’s best.\u00a0In a review where I likened it to Australia’s own answer to Charli XCX’s Brat<\/a>, I called it an “instant classic that rewires nostalgia into a deliriously fun, addictive, innovative rush of rave-ready electro-pop”.\u00a0<\/p>\n It’s a big reason Ninajirachi leads this year’s ARIA nods, with eight nominations, including Best Solo Artist, Best Independent and Electronic Release.<\/p>\n 6m agoWed 19 Nov 2025 at 5:40am<\/p>\n Watch the ARIAs with us!<\/p>\n 15m agoWed 19 Nov 2025 at 5:32am<\/p>\n From ARIA Hall of Famer to Album of the Year?<\/p>\n Singer-songwriter\u00a0Missy Higgins was inducted into the Hall of Fame<\/a>\u00a0last year, and now she’s back in a major category for her sixth album, The Second Act.<\/p>\n Billed as spiritual sequel to her influential, blockbuster debut The Sound Of White<\/a>, and released exactly 20 years later, to the day, The Second Act exhibited a similar depth of honesty about life and love.<\/p>\n The key difference? It found the adult musician sifting through the emotional fallout of her divorce from ex-husband Dan Lee.<\/p>\n It’s a powerful showcase of soul-baring, seasoned songwriting that’ll have you reaching for the tissues, with confessionals around the complicated truths of parenting and love lost.<\/p>\n It is, in my humble opinion, one of the most quietly profound, nuanced break-up albums you’ll ever hear.<\/a><\/p>\n 24m agoWed 19 Nov 2025 at 5:22am<\/p>\n You Am I set for ARIA Hall of Fame induction<\/p>\n You Am I, the Aussie alternative rock band led by Tim Rogers, will join the ARIA Hall of Fame tonight, more than 35 years after they formed in 1989.<\/p>\n The band are beloved for records including Hi Fi Way (which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year<\/a>); Hourly, Daily; and #4 Record, as well as singles ‘Purple Sneakers’, ‘Berlin Chair’ and ‘Heavy Heart’.<\/p>\n Those three records, all from the 90s, made You Am I the very first Aussie band to release three successive records that all debuted at #1 on the ARIA albums chart.<\/p>\n ‘Berlin Chair’ landed at #81 earlier this year on triple j’s Hottest 100 of Australian Songs<\/a>.<\/p>\n And they’ve won a whoppin’ 10 ARIA Awards over their career, including Album of the Year for Hourly, Daily in 1996.<\/p>\n They’re still touring and dropped their latest record in 2021: The Lives of Others<\/a>, which peaked at #2 on the ARIA album chart.<\/p>\n You Am I are effectively the first of their generation of 90s alternative rockers to land in the ARIA Hall of Fame, following the induction of ’00s rockers Jet in 2023.<\/p>\n To get into the ARIA Hall of Fame, an act must have started a career and achieved prominence at least 20 years ago.<\/p>\n
