\n On August 15th, Gerard Moorehouse (45) of Piercetown, Newbridge, also locked himself in a toilet as the plane, carrying 200 passengers, prepared to land.\n <\/p>\n

Delays in delivering a toasted sandwich to a passenger from Newbridge on board a Ryanair flight resulted in homophobic slurs and threats being directed at cabin crew.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On August 15th, Gerard Moorehouse (45) of Piercetown, Newbridge, also locked himself in a toilet as the plane, carrying 200 passengers, prepared to land.<\/p>\n

In court he claimed, according to the Irish Independent, that he needed his sandwich because he was diabetic.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He also said he was in the toilet due to bowel problems.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He further stated that he was discriminated against because he is a member of the Traveller community.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A cabin attendant said Moorehouse never informed him that he was diabetic and that he could have used the toilet at any other time during the flight.<\/p>\n

It was also claimed that Moorehouse asked a Cabin attendant if they were gay, and called them f****ts multiple times.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Moorehouse accepted that he called the flight attendant names but denied making threats.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n

However, the court found him guilty of threatening and abusive behaviour on an aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He received a three-month suspended sentence and was fined \u20ac1,500.<\/p>\n
