Its tall, carved appearance stood out sharply against the surrounding flat, fractured terrain.<\/p>\n<p>Using its SuperCam instrument, <a class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/science\/news\/life-on-mars-nasa-finds-clearest-sign-ever-perseverance-rover-discovers-leopard-spots-11757928839457.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Perseverance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Perseverance<\/a> analyzed the rock and found it to be high in iron and nickel \u2014 a hallmark of iron-nickel meteorites formed in the cores of large asteroids.
