{"id":193357,"date":"2025-11-21T22:57:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T22:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/193357\/"},"modified":"2025-11-21T22:57:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T22:57:14","slug":"mississippi-museum-of-art-preserves-frank-lloyd-wright-house-in-jackson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/193357\/","title":{"rendered":"Mississippi Museum of Art preserves Frank Lloyd Wright house in Jackson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mississippi Museum of Art in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/jackson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jackson<\/a> has purchased a nearby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/frank-lloyd-wright\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Frank Lloyd Wright<\/a> Usonian house, with plans to restore and maintain the property for museum visitors.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msmuseumart.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mississippi Museum of Art<\/a> (MMA) confirmed the purchase this month, and said it was &#8220;inspired&#8221; by the success of other institutions such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/crystal-bridges-museum\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art<\/a> and its 2014 acquisition of the Wright-designed <a href=\"https:\/\/franklloydwright.org\/site\/bachman-wilson-house-at-crystal-bridges\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bachman-Wilson House<\/a> in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2272292 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/fountainhead-house-jackson-frank-lloyd-wright-mississipi-museum-of-art_dezeen_2364_col_44-852x569.jp.jpeg\" alt=\"Frank Lloyd Wright house\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1578\"  \/>The Mississippi Museum of Art has purchased a Frank Lloyd Wright house for visitors<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This strategic acquisition is not only about preserving a culturally and historically important site \u2013 it is also a forward-thinking investment in the Museum&#8217;s vision for the future,&#8221; said MMA Board of Trustees chair Lisa Percy.<\/p>\n<p>The newly-acquired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msmuseumart.org\/exhibition\/fountainhead-by-frank-lloyd-wright\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fountainhead house<\/a>, or J Willis Hughes House, sits just a 1o-minute drive from the museum&#8217;s main campus.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/10\/09\/the-studio-frank-lloyd-wright\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"191\" height=\"191\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/the-studio-frank-lloyd-wright-apple-set-design_2_dezeen_2364_sq_7-191x191.jpg\" class=\"excludeLightbox wp-post-image\" alt=\"Frank Lloyd Wight studio for The Studio\" decoding=\"async\" data-pin-nopin=\"true\"  \/><\/p>\n<p> How The Studio&#8217;s production team created a convincing Frank Lloyd Wright building\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Built in the 1950s during Wright&#8217;s Usonian era, when the architect focused on building a series of affordable homes, the Fountainhead house features four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and a pool area that flows into a stream.<\/p>\n<p>It is shaped like a wing, with a living area branching off one side and a line of bedrooms on the other.
