{"id":195125,"date":"2025-11-22T23:39:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-22T23:39:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/195125\/"},"modified":"2025-11-22T23:39:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-22T23:39:12","slug":"well-known-kildare-pub-and-restaurant-to-be-demolished","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/195125\/","title":{"rendered":"Well-known Kildare pub and restaurant to be demolished"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"257\">A major redevelopment in Co <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kildarenow.com\/news\/local-news\/1947113\/new-book-on-the-irish-national-stud-in-kildare-launched-at-maynooth-university.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Kildare<\/a><\/strong> is now set to proceed after planning permission was granted for a mixed-use scheme submitted by Mill Road Estates Ltd.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"618\">The approved plans allow for the demolition of the former Thatch Pub site on Main Street of Ballymore Eustace and the construction of a single-storey retail unit incorporating an off-licence, caf\u00e9, commercial kitchen, and staff\/W.C. facilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"618\">The development also includes three new two-storey townhouses fronting directly onto Main Street\u2014two Type A units and one Type B.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"620\" data-end=\"874\">To the rear of the site, a courtyard will provide a service yard, 11 public car parking spaces (including one accessible space), six residential spaces, two EV charging points, and both public and staff bicycle parking totalling ten bays.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"876\" data-end=\"1232\">The permission also covers new connections to public foul and storm drainage systems along with extensive public realm works on Main Street and Chapel Street.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"876\" data-end=\"1232\">These upgrades will include refurbished footpaths and kerbs, a landscaped terrace on Chapel Street, and the addition of three new public parking spaces and five public bicycle bays.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1462\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The redevelopment of the long-vacant Thatch Pub site marks one of the most significant planning decisions in Ballymore Eustace in recent years, with construction expected to begin once conditions of the permission are finalised.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1462\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kildarenow.com\/news\/local-news\/1947113\/new-book-on-the-irish-national-stud-in-kildare-launched-at-maynooth-university.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">READ MORE: New book on Irish National Stud launched.\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT &#8211;
