A truck driver has died and five people have been taken to the hospital following a collision in Co Dublin.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed and emergency services attended the scene of the incident on the N7 Westbound at Rathcoole on Friday, at approximately 6.40pm.<\/p>\n
The collision involved a truck and two cars.<\/p>\n
The driver of the truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was removed to the mortuary at Whitehall where an autopsy is due to take place.<\/p>\n
“Five other individuals were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be non-life threatening at this time.<\/p>\n
“The road was closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since reopened,” said a Garda spokesperson.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.<\/p>\n
Any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N7 near Rathcoole between 6:30pm and 7:00pm on Friday, 22nd August 2025 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
