Data shown in this report<br \/>\nrefers to September data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>National<br \/>\nInsights:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Job ad volumes have risen by<br \/>\n1% for the past four months and are now 7% higher<br \/>\ny\/y.<\/li>\n<li>Applications per ad rose 2% m\/m and remain at<br \/>\nrecord high levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Region<br \/>\nInsights:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aside from Gisborne (-1% m\/m),<br \/>\nall regions recorded either no change, or growth, in<br \/>\nOctober.<\/li>\n<li>Job ads rose the fastest m\/m in Hawkes Bay<br \/>\n(3%) and Otago (3%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Industry<br \/>\nInsights:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monthly increases were<br \/>\nrecorded across most industries, the largest being Sport<br \/>\n&amp; Recreation (4%).<\/li>\n<li>Job ads in Information &amp;<br \/>\nCommunication Technology, have risen consistently for 12<br \/>\nmonths and are now 15% higher y\/y.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rob<br \/>\nClark, SEEK NZ Country Manager,<br \/>\nsays:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement &#8211; scroll to continue reading<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;October\u2019s data shows some<br \/>\ncontinued incremental activity returning to New Zealand&#8217;s<br \/>\njob market, with job ads up 1% for the fourth consecutive<br \/>\nmonth and 7% higher than last year. While we&#8217;re mindful that<br \/>\nmany Kiwis are still facing real challenges in finding work,<br \/>\nthis data does indicate that hiring activity has stabilized<br \/>\nafter many months of<br \/>\ndecline.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>&#8220;One encouraging sign is<br \/>\nthat this growth isn&#8217;t concentrated in just one or two areas<br \/>\n&#8211; we&#8217;re seeing modest gains across most industries and in<br \/>\nmost regions around the<br \/>\ncountry.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>&#8220;For candidates, this<br \/>\nrepresents some encouraging movement in an otherwise<br \/>\nextremely tough market.
