According to a new Instagram post, the project is called Light-Years. They unveiled the cover art, and confirmed that the project will arrive on December 12 via Mass Appeal Records. Needless to say, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotnewhiphop.com\/951958-nas-confirms-dj-premiere-joint-album-hip-hop-news\" target=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\">their fans can&#8217;t wait.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">Nas discussed the series during an interview with Rolling Stone that was published last month.<\/p>\n<p>Nas &amp; DJ Premier Album<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">\u201cThis series is to encourage [and] inspire hip hop and remind us all [of] the pureness of hip hop,&#8221; he said at the time. &#8220;I hope that we all can do this together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotnewhiphop.com\/954642-nas-mass-appeal-legend-has-it-timeline-hip-hop-news\" target=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\">\u201cIt\u2019s 1995 all over again,\u201d<\/a> he continued. \u201cSometimes I feel like 2025 has that feeling. It\u2019s not going backwards, [it\u2019s] going forward, though. It\u2019s that feeling of urgency, that vibration, the celebration of life and these songs and these albums, what they meant 30 years ago, it\u2019s still thriving right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">\u201cEven from younger people, they\u2019re all derivatives of that early sound. And these artists here, from Slick Rick \u2014 he is the reason that all of us even have a pen in our hands. You look at him and you think of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotnewhiphop.com\/profile\/mobbdeep\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\" target=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mobb Deep<\/a>, and you think of Raekwon and Ghostface, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotnewhiphop.com\/profile\/delasoul\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\" target=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">De La Soul<\/a>, [it\u2019s] some of the most different, brave, bold, intelligent hip hop music ever made,&#8221; Nas concluded. \u201cAnd of course, we lost some of our brothers along the way, [but] we\u2019re still representing for them and they\u2019re still representing themselves through the series.
