OpenAI did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>While OpenAI&#8217;s annualized revenue run rate is expected to reach <a data-testid=\"Link\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/openai-lays-groundwork-juggernaut-ipo-up-1-trillion-valuation-2025-10-29\/\" class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__inherit-color__PhuPF text-module__inherit-font__1P1hv text-module__inherit-size__EyiQW link-module__link__INqxZ link-module__underline_default__-okuC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">about $20 billion<\/a> by this year-end, losses in the company are also mounting, sources have told Reuters.The Information had reported in September that OpenAI generated around <a data-testid=\"Link\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/openais-first-half-revenue-rises-16-about-43-billion-information-reports-2025-09-30\/\" class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__inherit-color__PhuPF text-module__inherit-font__1P1hv text-module__inherit-size__EyiQW link-module__link__INqxZ link-module__underline_default__-okuC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">$4.3 billion<\/a> in revenue in the first half of 2025, about 16% more than it generated all of last year and it burned $2.5 billion in large part due to its research and development costs for developing AI and for running ChatGPT.<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI expects to generate about 20% of its revenue from new products such as shopping- and advertising-driven features.
