A measure from the National Association of Realtors&#8217; Housing Affordability Index fell to 97.4 in Q2, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nar.realtor\/sites\/default\/files\/2025-08\/hai-q2-2025-first-time-homebuyer-affordability-2025-08-12.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:according;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">according<\/a> to the trade group, indicating that typical families may no longer earn enough to qualify for a mortgage on a median-priced home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Cost pressures extend beyond housing.
