Liverpool\u2019s XI vs. PSV Eindhoven is confirmed, with Arne Slot<\/a> making just two changes \u2013 one enforced<\/a> \u2013 to the side humbled by Nottingham Forest<\/a> four days previous.<\/b><\/p>\n

As Slot was keen to point out prior to Wednesday\u2019s clash at Anfield, Liverpool have been in strong form in the Champions League<\/a> so far.<\/p>\n

But overall the situation is dire, with three wins from four so far in Europe papering over the cracks \u2013 and the Reds\u2019 lineup to face PSV may prove divisive.<\/p>\n

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the head coach revealed that Gomez \u2013 one of five available defenders \u2013 had required a painkilling injection to address a knee injury last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cNormally I wouldn\u2019t go into detail that much, but he had an injection last week in his knee. That\u2019s normally not because you don\u2019t feel anything!\u201d Slot explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cApart from maybe me making the decision to play Dom or someone else, this is also to do with him not being completely fit.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough he\u2019s in the group [on Wednesday] as he was on Saturday, he wasn\u2019t able to train last week every single time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mo Salah might be off the boil, but he has success against the Dutch<\/p>\n

Salah needs two goals to become the first African to score 50 goals in the Champions League<\/a>. He has scored once in his last six appearances in the competition.<\/p>\n

He has, however, scored in each of his last two games against Dutch sides \u2013 doing so in both clashes with Ajax in the 2022\/23 edition of this competition.<\/p>\n

Salah has 46 goals for the Reds in this competition. The next highest of the players currently in the squad is Van Dijk with five!<\/p>\n

The night could also see him become only the fourth Liverpool player to reach 90 European appearances for the club after Jamie Carragher (150), Steven Gerrard<\/a> (130) and Sami Hyypia (94).<\/p>\n
