{"id":202022,"date":"2025-11-26T23:33:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T23:33:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/202022\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T23:33:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T23:33:08","slug":"west-corks-largest-ever-home-build-approved-for-clonakilty-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/202022\/","title":{"rendered":"West Cork\u2019s largest ever home build approved for Clonakilty town"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A conditional planning grant in Clonakilty for West Cork\u2019s largest ever house development, potentially worth over \u20ac100m, has been signalled under the large-scale residential development (LRD) process this week.<\/p>\n<p>Approval was indicated by Cork County Council on November 24 for a scheme of 246 homes, some 177 houses, 60 apartments, creche, and 12 sheltered accommodation units, to include 50 social housing units to developers HB Clogheen Developments, headed by local landowner Herbert Buttimer and long-established builder Michael Dempsey of Dempsey Construction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Mr Dempsey\u2019s first Clonakilty development was Redwood Park in 1995, followed by the likes of Lady\u2019s Cross and An Sruth\u00e1n Beag, the latter a just-concluding development of 99 homes with HB Clogheen Developments.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.irishexaminer.com\/cms_media\/module_img\/9750\/4875372_17_articleinlinemobile_1ab.jpg_tn_SMALL\" alt=\"Homes at The Miles, left, and Sruth\u00e1n Beag.
