{"id":202916,"date":"2025-11-27T11:45:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T11:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/202916\/"},"modified":"2025-11-27T11:45:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T11:45:09","slug":"irish-actor-ruth-codd-undergoes-second-leg-amputation-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/202916\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish actor Ruth Codd undergoes second leg amputation \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Irish actor and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/culture\/tv-radio\/2025\/11\/06\/winner-of-the-celebrity-traitors-revealed-after-dramatic-finale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/culture\/tv-radio\/2025\/11\/06\/winner-of-the-celebrity-traitors-revealed-after-dramatic-finale\/\">The Celebrity Traitors<\/a> star Ruth Codd has revealed she has undergone a second leg amputation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The 29-year-old had one leg amputated when she was 23, following an injury she sustained while playing football aged 15 that did not heal properly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Speaking on TikTok, Codd said: \u201cHi guys, so I have some good news and some bad news.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cGood news, we\u2019ve had a full circle moment, I\u2019m back making TikTok content in my parents\u2019 house, bad news, I can\u2019t do it in front of that lovely blue floral wallpaper any more, due to the fact that, that room is upstairs, and I\u2019ve just had my second below knee amputation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cSo unfortunately, those facilities are not available to me at the current moment in time, yes, so lots of unpack there for everyone involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The Irish actor went on to say that she had also got a new wheelchair, which she had named \u201cFat Tony\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Codd said: \u201cShe has the top speed of f*** all per hour, especially if there\u2019s a step involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">On The Celebrity Traitors, Codd was the second contestant to be murdered by traitors, TV presenter Jonathan Ross, singer Cat Burns and comedian Alan Carr.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Reflecting on her time in the Traitors castle during the series, she said: \u201cI mean &#8230;
