The Meta Quest 3S is down to \u00a3229 at Currys<\/a> \u2013 with John Lewis <\/a>and Argos<\/a> matching the \u00a360 saving \u2013 and this is close to the best price we\u2019ve ever seen for the Meta Quest 3S. Meanwhile in the US the Meta Quest 3S is still $249 at Walmart<\/a> \u2013 a solid $50 discount, but a deal we\u2019ve seen a few times before.<\/p>\n

That UK deal is one to watch however, as it was recently bested by Amazon<\/a> when it briefly dropped the Quest 3S to \u00a3219<\/a> thanks to a voucher. Unsurprisingly the deal sold out, and it\u2019s unclear if the discount will return any time soon \u2013 which has me worried the current Meta Quest 3S deal isn\u2019t long for this world either. That Amazon discount could return, but even at \u00a3229 the Quest 3S is a steal.<\/p>\n

While if you’re in the US you can\u2019t take advantages of those UK deals, they suggest to me that you might want hold out for a better deal where you are. While there\u2019s a good chance that $249 is the lowest the Quest 3S will go, you may find that the likes of Amazon, Walmart or Target, drop a better limited-time deal in the run-up to Black Friday<\/a>, or on the big day itself.<\/p>\n

The Meta Quest 3S is a very strong VR headset because it hits the sweet spot of price and performance.<\/p>\n

Sharing most of the specs of the Meta Quest 3 proper this headset can enjoy all the same top-quality software \u2013 including exclusives like Batman: Arkham Shadow <\/a>and Marvel\u2019s Deadpool VR<\/a> \u2013 as its sibling, and the Quest ecosystem is without a doubt the best standalone VR platform in terms of software breadth.<\/p>\n

The downside of the Quest 3S are its displays. The Quest 3 is outfitted with pancake lenses which not only slim down the machine, but also wipe out the blurriness at the fringes that can appear in the Quest 3S’s fresnel lenses.<\/p>\n

However this visual downgrade isn\u2019t always the biggest problem, and when the Quest 3S is half the price of a Quest 3 it\u2019s a downgrade I\u2019m willing to overlook \u2013 and I\u2019m sure most of you will be too.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019re after a Meta Quest 3S deal these are the two to watch \u2013 though folks in the US might prefer to wait and see if something better rolls around.<\/p>\n
