As Coronation Street<\/a>\u2019s gym-slip mum Sarah-Louise Platt, Tina O\u2019Brien\u2019s time on the cobbles has been colourful \u2013 to say the least.<\/p>\n

And away from the long-running ITV<\/a> soap, the actress\u2019s own personal life has arguably become just as turbulent.<\/p>\n

Last week, it emerged that her latest relationship with millionaire interior designer Adam Fadle had ended after just six months.<\/p>\n

And it appears to have been brutal. Tellingly, Tina, 42, wasted no time in deleting all photographs of Adam from her Instagram profile, including loved-up snaps from their romantic holiday to Greece<\/a> in September.<\/p>\n

It was the first relationship the star had been in since her seven-year marriage to ex-husband Adam Crofts ended last Christmas<\/a> \u2013 and is just the latest blow in a tumultuous private life that has also included a painful break-up from her Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas<\/a> (more on which later).<\/p>\n

So what could have prompted such an abrupt end to another relationship that, until very recently, had seemed so promising?<\/p>\n

The truth is, according to friends, that aspects of Tina\u2019s life are \u2018simply not always conducive\u2019 to having another relationship.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019m told that these personal complications are what torpedoed her romance with Adam.<\/p>\n

The first of these are linked to Tina\u2019s daughter Scarlett, 17, who was born during a turbulent relationship with her one-time co-star Thomas.<\/p>\n

Scarlett, who is following in the footsteps of her famous parents by working as an actress, is said to be a \u2018demanding\u2019 teenager who has caused Tina to \u2018tear her hair out at times\u2019.<\/p>\n

One incident in particular would shock anyone familiar with the Thomas and O\u2019Brien clans, although for legal reasons I am unable to describe it here.<\/p>\n

But nearly three years ago, Tina hinted at just how tricky it has been bringing up ambitious Scarlett, who made her name as schoolgirl Izzy Charles in BBC\u2019s Waterloo Road.<\/p>\n

I had written that there was uproar in Manchester that Scarlett and her cousin Teddy (the son of Ryan\u2019s brother Adam Thomas, who also starred on the BBC drama) had both won roles on the show, while others who were less well-connected failed to get auditions.<\/p>\n

Tina was furious, and took to social media to reveal the trials involved in parenting a young teenager whose father \u2013 and his brothers \u2013 were thrusting her into the limelight.<\/p>\n

She revealed that Scarlett had attended drama school since she was four years old and insisted it was for that reason she was already winning roles.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019d love to explain to you how hard it is to deal with the backlash,\u2019 she wrote on her Instagram. \u2018How, as a parent, I will try to do my best to protect my 14-year-old child from a stream of hurtful comments directed towards her.\u2019<\/p>\n

It\u2019s partly for these reasons that the star is at war with Ryan, who regularly posts videos on TikTok featuring their daughter.<\/p>\n

\u2018Tina hates the way Ryan does this \u2013 she wants Scarlett to learn the trade, not just be a TikTok star,\u2019 a source close to Tina says. \u2018But it has been an extremely messy co-parenting operation.<\/p>\n

\u2018Imagine if you\u2019re Tina\u2019s boyfriend and you are putting up with a girlfriend who has those struggles.<\/p>\n

\u2018You have to feel a bit sorry for her, really.\u2019<\/p>\n

Tina also has another child, a ten-year-old son named Beau, from her marriage to personal trainer Adam Crofts.<\/p>\n

\u2018She has got two children of totally different ages and now she\u2019s a single, working mum,\u2019 a source points out. \u2018That\u2019s not easy. You throw another man into the mix and it\u2019s even harder.\u2019<\/p>\n

Others are less sympathetic to Tina, who catapulted to fame in the late 1990s when she won the Corrie role as the daughter of Gail and Martin Platt.<\/p>\n

Some say that ending the latest romance with Adam Fadle was \u2018typically ruthless\u2019 of the star. Indeed, one source said she could be \u2018a nightmare when she wants to be\u2019 and, at times, \u2018a bit of a brat\u2019.<\/p>\n

One friend says: \u2018Tina hasn\u2019t had it easy, but she\u2019s not always easy herself, either \u2013 her personal life is a bit of a soap opera.<\/p>\n

\u2018She did a lot of the parenting of Scarlett alone and had a lot of rows with Ryan over the years, especially over money and who was paying for what.<\/p>\n

\u2018Tina loves a ruck with a man.\u2019<\/p>\n

Things famously came to an explosive head between Tina and Ryan in 2022, when he accused her of smashing up his Range Rover with a baseball bat \u2013 causing around \u00a31,000 worth of damage.<\/p>\n

That followed a series of inflammatory social media posts by Tina aimed at Ryan. He, by that time, was in a new relationship with Towie star Lucy Mecklenburgh.<\/p>\n

Further drama emerged last year when Tina was caught on camera brawling in the street with two teenage girls outside her \u00a31million home in an upmarket Manchester suburb.<\/p>\n

The actress was filmed screaming \u2018get away from the f***ing house\u2019 at the girls \u2013 who appeared to be aged around 15 \u2013 before throwing punches herself and being hauled into a headlock. While Greater Manchester Police investigated, no charges were brought and officers are said to have concluded Tina acted \u2018in self-defence\u2019.<\/p>\n

As a former colleague explains: \u2018The truth is with Tina none of this is all that surprising \u2013 she\u2019s a live wire and at times that blows up into rows and anger.<\/p>\n

\u2018She doesn\u2019t think twice about lashing out verbally when she isn\u2019t getting her own way, and she\u2019s always had a bit of a sense of entitlement.\u2019<\/p>\n

Those who know her say she had expected to become a much bigger star during a break from the soap in 2008. But when that didn\u2019t happen, she returned to the celebrated cobbles in 2015 and has remained there ever since \u2013 recently signing a contract extension.<\/p>\n

It has led some to wonder how much of this \u2018lashing out\u2019 is frustration over the direction of her career.<\/p>\n

The former colleague added: \u2018Tina had become a household name and when she left she was all over lads mags and in the papers. She thought she was going on to bigger and better things.<\/p>\n

\u2018But it didn\u2019t really work out and she ended up back where she started. A lot of people thought she probably wasn\u2019t very happy about that. She\u2019d expected to land massive roles.<\/p>\n
