Ed Sheeran<\/strong><\/a> and Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> finally spoke about her engagement to Travis Kelce<\/strong> \u2014 after the \u201cSapphire\u201d singer learned the news through social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy way of viewing it is, like, me and Taylor are mates, and I will see her,\u201d Sheeran, 34, told Access Hollywood <\/a>on Friday, November 28. \u201cI saw her a week after that happened \u2026 and you talk in person.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift, 35, announced via Instagram in August<\/a> that Kelce, 36, popped the question after two years of dating. Sheeran, who has been BFFs with Swift since 2014, later revealed that he found out through social media since he doesn\u2019t have a cell phone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve actually got rid of the iPad as well, so I\u2019m not on anything anymore,\u201d Sheeran said on Friday of getting rid of both his phone and tablet. \u201cI kind of feel, like, being in touch with everyone, you lose actual human connection.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weeks after Swift revealed her engagement news, she reunited with Sheeran.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not self-conscious about my relationship with her. We\u2019ve been friends for very, very many years [and] we\u2019re super close.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Sheeran, he and the Life of a Showgirl artist \u201csee each other when [they] see each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we see each other, we lock back into where we left off, and I love it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Months after their hangout, Swift shared her version of events<\/a> on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a perfect explanation \u2026 he doesn\u2019t have a phone,\u201d Swift said last month. \u201cI\u2019m going through my texts and being like, \u2018Who have I texted within the last month in my life?\u2019 And he just wasn\u2019t there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of my absolute favorite people on the planet,\u201d she told host Jimmy Fallon<\/strong>. \u201cWhen the news came out, I was like, \u2018We forgot to call Ed! Oh, no!\u2019 He\u2019s like family. I love him, but he doesn\u2019t have a phone.\u201d<\/p>\n

A clip of Swift\u2019s explanation subsequently went viral, which Sheeran eventually saw.<\/p>\n

He concluded, \u201cI just feel like devices are running people\u2019s lives, and I like opening a laptop, work, closing a laptop [and] going back to life. I\u2019ve got children, I\u2019ve got a wife, I\u2019ve got a family, I want to be present.
