WANA (Nov 25) \u2013<\/strong> Iran is set to begin a new phase of its space program on Sunday, December 28, with the launch of three Earth-observation satellites<\/a> designed to strengthen the country\u2019s capabilities in environmental monitoring, water management, agriculture, and natural-resource assessment.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to official statements, the \u201cKosar-1.5\u201d satellite\u2014one of the three payloads in this mission\u2014is scheduled to be placed into orbit on the same day. It is part of a broader satellite package that includes \u201cZafar-2,\u201d \u201cPaya,\u201d and \u201cKosar-1.5,\u201d aimed at providing imaging data and analytical services for environmental agencies and disaster-management organizations.<\/p>\n

The launch will be conducted from Russia, using a Soyuz launch vehicle. Officials note that December 28 is the initial launch date, though, as with all space missions, adjustments to the schedule remain possible.<\/p>\n
