The first season of The Golden Bachelorette starred Joan Vassos<\/a><\/strong>, and she ended her journey engaged to Chock Chapple<\/strong>. The two were in no rush to get married, or even move in together. A recent social media post by Vassos, however, has some “Bachelor Nation” fans wondering if the two have recently split.<\/p>\n

Vassos and Chapple’s engagement aired in July 2024 during The Golden Bachelorette finale. They were open about planning to maintain a long-distance romance, as neither planned to officially move from their homes in Maryland or Kansas. The pair shared that they planned to rent an apartment in New York City that would be their shared getaway.<\/p>\n

On Thanksgiving<\/a>, Vassos took to Instagram<\/a> to share some sweet sentiments. Fans noticed, however, that The Golden Bachelorette star did not refer whatsoever to Chapple.<\/p>\n

In The Bachelor<\/a> subreddit, one fan shared<\/a> the video and questioned, “Is Joan soft-launching a breakup with Chock?”<\/p>\n

The social media post that Vassos shared<\/a> wished everybody a happy Thanksgiving. In the caption, she wrote, “So many things to be thankful<\/a> for today… Thank you for being here with me on this new journey of mine!”<\/p>\n

In the video that she shared, Vassos said she was “thinking about life<\/a> a little bit and about how thankful I am.”<\/p>\n

She continued, “I was thinking that life doesn’t really turn out like the way you expected. In fact, it probably never turns out the way you expected. And mine certainly didn’t.”<\/p>\n

“No one is responsible for making you happy but yourself. You’re the only one that can do it,” Vassos added.<\/p>\n

Vassos went on to note she was thankful to be surrounded by so many amazing people, and she specifically mentioned her family<\/a>, her best friends<\/a>, and the community of fans.<\/p>\n

The comments on Vassos’ social media posts were mostly supportive as fans noted their love for The Golden Bachelorette star. On Reddit, however, the vibe was a bit different.<\/p>\n

“Suspicious activity,” one person wrote<\/a>, adding a string of wide-eyed emojis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“So hard to breakup AND feel you owe the viewing\/following audience something. Very real and no way around it,” suggested another Reddit user<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“After this video I would be shocked if they’re still together,” someone else added<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Wait, I’m actually bummed about this, I thought they were a sweet couple and hoped they’d get married. It does make sense though since neither of them seemed willing to uproot their lives for each other,” an additional Redditor wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Does not sound good but not shocked at all. Originally they said they were getting a place in NYC together which never happened and it seems like she has really prioritized the influencer life…I’m sure the relationship just ran its course from not spending enough time together,” wrote someone else<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As some fans of The Golden Bachelorette noted, the couple did recently post about their return trip to Disney together<\/a>. The post was shared on November<\/a> 21, just about a week before the post that Vassos shared that has garnered so much attention.<\/p>\n

Vassos wrote that 15 of them went on the trip together, and it appeared they had a blast. The post about the trip came shortly after the two celebrated the first anniversary<\/a> of their engagement, where again, all seemed well.<\/p>\n

Chapple and Vassos still follow one another on Instagram, and it appears that their extended family members still follow each of the respective Golden Bachelorette stars as well. Will Vassos or Chapple soon take to social media to share more that confirms they are still together, or could a split announcement soon be on the horizon?<\/p>\n
