The underground rail line, first floated in 2001, has hit yet another obstacle: a last-minute legal challenge from residents of Dartmouth Square, who fear the construction of the Charlemont terminus could damage their 19th-century homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">The Charlemont &amp; Dartmouth Community Group also had questions over whether the proposed Charlemont station is a terminal station, or a major interchange facility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">They said a TII submission to an oral hearing indicated that there will be 29,300 people using the Charlemont station during a 12-hour period, with only 8,000 of these accessing the Luas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">The community group said this would leave 21,300 people \u201cwandering through the streets of this residential area \u00adseeking taxis, looking to be picked up, or walking some considerable distance to bus services\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">Dartmouth Square itself is no stranger to battle.
