Jon Bon Jovi<\/a><\/strong> asked for grandparenting advice after his son<\/a>, Jake Bongiovi<\/a><\/strong>, and Millie Bobby Brown<\/a><\/strong> adopted a baby girl.<\/p>\n

On the Cbeebies Parenting Helpline podcast, the rockstar, 63, asked expert Philippa after recently becoming a grandfather<\/a>, per the Daily Mail<\/a>: “When can I give my child advice on how to parent and when should I butt out?”<\/p>\n

To that, Philippa replied, “You should give advice when it’s asked for, and you should butt out. I’m not quite sure what that means, but it probably means keep quiet. You should butt out the rest of the time.”<\/p>\n

Bon Jovi also shared the top advice he has received on grandparenting.<\/p>\n

“The best advice I’ve got so far is to know when not to give advice because you realize that you know they’re going to learn how to parent in their own way, and there’s no manual when they drop a baby off, and the grandparents<\/a> leave on that first night,” he explained.<\/p>\n

The “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer added, “I learned that the hard way. And, you know, our kids are going to learn how to parent their way, and we just have all get through that together, but I’m looking forward to watching my children become parents and our grandchildren entering our lives.”<\/p>\n

In August, Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, announced via Instagram<\/a> that they had welcomed a daughter through adoption<\/a> over the summer. They added, “We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace<\/a> and privacy.” The Stranger Things<\/a> actress and Jake married in May 2024<\/a> and have not shared the name of their baby girl.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, one of Bon Jovi’s other sons, Jesse Bongiovi<\/strong>, 30, and his wife, Jesse Light<\/strong>, welcomed a baby girl<\/a>, Blair Lucy Bongiovi<\/strong>, in early November<\/a> 2025.<\/p>\n

Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Bongiovi<\/a><\/strong>, have two other children, Stephanie<\/strong>, 32, and Romeo<\/strong>, 21.<\/p>\n
