Asia-Pacific rose Monday, tracking Wall Street gains after Federal Reserve<\/a>\u00a0Chair Jerome Powell signaled that the central bank\u00a0could begin\u00a0easing monetary policy<\/a>\u00a0next month in his widely anticipated annual speech in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.<\/p>\n Japan’s\u00a0Nikkei 225<\/a>\u00a0benchmark rose 1.08%, while the broader Topix index added 0.53%.<\/p>\n In South Korea, the\u00a0Kospi<\/a>\u00a0index increased by 0.75%, while the small-cap Kosdaq advanced 1.71%.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0S&P\/ASX 200<\/a>\u00a0benchmark climbed 0.87%.<\/p>\n Futures for Hong Kong’s\u00a0Hang Seng index<\/a>\u00a0stood at 25,722, pointing to a stronger open compared with the HSI’s last close of 25,339.14.<\/p>\n Elsewhere in Asia-Pacific, market watchers are awaiting Singapore’s consumer price index reading for July. Economists polled by Reuters expect a 0.6% year-over-year rise, consistent with the month before.<\/p>\n U.S. equity futures<\/a> were little changed in early Asia hours, as investors await artificial intelligence darling Nvidia<\/a>‘s earnings.<\/p>\n Last Friday<\/a>,\u00a0the blue-chip\u00a0Dow<\/a>\u00a0soared 846.24 points, or 1.89%, to a record level of 45,631.74.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the broad market\u00a0S&P 500<\/a>\u00a0rose 1.52% to 6,466.91, while its session high was just three points shy of its record.
