A homeowner nearly had a deadly encounter with a rattlesnake in their backyard after the five-foot snake expertly camouflaged itself in plain sight.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The person, who was not identified in the Reddit<\/a> thread, was doing some gardening work in their dry creek-bed behind their house when they spotted the reptile just in time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite being within just three feet of the deadly creature, the snake failed to create its tell tale rattle.<\/p>\n

‘Not a peep!’ the user wrote, adding that the reptile was especially tricky to spot as it had buried its head.<\/p>\n

At first glance, the small dry creek-bed looked perfectly intact with barely any weeds poking through the mulch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The little ‘dangernoodle,’ as the Redditor dubbed it, was so well hidden fellow users were left scratching their heads even after receiving hints in the comment section.<\/p>\n

‘A very sneaky danger noodle!’ a third person agreed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The poster later confirmed that the snake didn’t once rattle, even as they flushed it out into the brush with a shovel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Although it is unclear where the homeowner lives, the majority of rattlesnakes are found in Arizona, which has 14 native species.<\/p>\n

The next state with the highest number of species is California, followed by Texas<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The reptile is mainly found in the Southwestern part of the United States, stretching from Texas to California.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rattlesnake bites can prove fatal without prompt medical treatment. There were up to 15 deaths from venomous snake bites last year, with the majority attributed to rattlesnakes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you come across a rattlesnake, experts advise trying to remain calm and avoiding panic.<\/p>\n

A distance of five feet is recommended and it is best to avoid throwing anything at the creature as it could entice it towards you.<\/p>\n

Rattle snakes typically signal their position by emitting their famous rattle.<\/p>\n

If you hear a rattle, it is best to take off in the opposite direction.\u00a0<\/p>\n
