His spot will be\u00a0taken by\u00a0Andrey Fedyaev, who now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gctc.ru\/main.php?id=155\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">appears<\/a> on\u00a0the mission\u2019s crew roster on\u00a0the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center\u2019s website. According to\u00a0unconfirmed reports on\u00a0social media, Artemyev photographed items at\u00a0a\u00a0SpaceX facility without permission.<\/p>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__7aRnT  SimpleBlock-module_center__D1CsV\">Roscosmos stated that the decision to\u00a0replace Artemyev \u201cwas made in\u00a0connection with his transition to\u00a0another job.\u201d What that entails \u2014 and whether Artemyev will remain with the space agency \u2014 is\u00a0unclear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__7aRnT  SimpleBlock-module_center__D1CsV\">According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/prostinas\/3438\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">reports<\/a> on\u00a0Telegram and rocket-launch analyst <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/starbasepost\/3580\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Georgy Trishkin<\/a>, Artemyev violated export controls under the International Traffic in\u00a0Arms Regulations by\u00a0using his phone to\u00a0photograph SpaceX engines and other proprietary materials without permission. He\u00a0also allegedly removed the images from the facility. It\u2019s hard to\u00a0imagine an\u00a0experienced cosmonaut unintentionally committing a\u00a0violation this egregious.\u201d Trishkin also claimed that NASA does not want the Artemyev scandal to\u00a0become public. The U.S. space agency hasn\u2019t officially commented on\u00a0any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__7aRnT  SimpleBlock-module_center__D1CsV\">Oleg Artemyev, 54, is\u00a0a\u00a0trained cosmonaut and pilot and a\u00a0recipient of\u00a0the Hero of\u00a0the Russian Federation honor. In\u00a0total, he\u00a0has completed three space flights and spent 560 days in\u00a0orbit. Since 2019, he\u00a0has served as\u00a0a\u00a0deputy of\u00a0the Moscow City Duma, and he\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0member of\u00a0the United Russia party.<\/p>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__7aRnT  SimpleBlock-module_center__D1CsV\">Crew-12 is\u00a0the twelfth crewed flight of\u00a0SpaceX\u2019s Crew Dragon spacecraft under NASA\u2019s program. The vehicle is\u00a0expected to\u00a0ferry four crew members to\u00a0the International Space Station in\u00a0February 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__7aRnT  SimpleBlock-module_center__D1CsV\">The mission falls under the seat-exchange program between NASA and Roscosmos.
