Have you ever tried this one?&#8221; over video of <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/music\/news\/sabrina-carpenter-slams-trump-white-house-juno-ice-video-1236597338\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">people in handcuffs<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the publisher of the Canadian cartoon Franklin the Turtle condemned Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth&#8217;s use of the Canadian cartoon character in a meme supporting the Trump administration&#8217;s attacks on boats in the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Franklin the turtle is a beloved Canadian icon who has inspired generations of children and stands for kindness, empathy and inclusivity,&#8221; Kids Can Press said in <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KidsCanPress\/status\/1995629217506312197?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">a statement<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We strongly condemn any denigrating, violent or unauthorized use of Franklin&#8217;s name or image, which directly contradicts these values.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the past, the President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Donald_Trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Donald Trump\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> administration has taken backlash from performers for using their intellectual property in videos. Some include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Olivia-Rodrigo\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Olivia Rodrigo\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Olivia Rodrigo<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Kenny_Loggins\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Kenny Loggins\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kenny Loggins<\/a>, Taylor Swift, comedian Theo Von, MGMT and Nintendo. Some have been fully removed or their music tracks stripped.
