The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when three friends, aged in their late teens, 20s and 30s, left the Kilbride Camp Ipas centre to go to a shop in the Tallaght area.<\/p>\n

When the group were followed and eventually stopped, they were then subject to an alleged attack and later taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

The incident took place on the Aghfarrell Road in Brittas, a rural village in south Dublin near the Co Wicklow border.<\/p>\n

One of the men, Muhammad, told RT\u00c9\u2019s Today with David McCullagh he and his friends realised they were being followed after stopping for petrol in Brittas village on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came from our camp in Kilbride because there is no shop, no anything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe and my two friends, my friend has a car, we drove to the petrol pump.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the group realised they were being followed, they stopped and got out, and one of the men who followed them appeared to be \u201cvery angry\u201d, and they then came under attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cImmediately, three motorcycles and one Golf car came, and suddenly there were 12 to 14 people, they came and started beating us.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the group who carried out the alleged assault broke all of the windows in the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey broke all of the windows and [were] beating us. They beat me in my head, and my stomach, and also in my face.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey beat me very harshly in my stomach and blood was coming from my hand also, and my other friend was sitting in the back. He was punched in his mouth, his nose and his face, and his head also.\u201d<\/p>\n

Muhammad said the group used \u201cvery harsh\u201d and \u201cvery bad words\u201d during the alleged incident, and he and his friends have been left frightened and scared. They were treated in hospital and have since made a report to garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n

He credited two woman who came to the scene and started shouting, leading to the alleged attackers fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n

The alleged incident has been condemned by People Before Profit TD for Dublin South-West Paul Murphy, who described it as a \u201cvicious attack on three young men\u201d that was \u201cunprovoked\u201d and \u201cappears to have been planned\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe attack on these asylum seekers from Afghanistan forms part of a growing pattern of premeditated racist, anti-immigrant attacks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe activities of racist and far-right groups are regarded with disgust by most people and the groups behind these attacks must be faced down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed have said they are investigating an assault and criminal damage incident that occurred on Aghfarrell Road in Brittas, Co Dublin at around 2.30pm on Sunday, November 30.<\/p>\n

Three males, aged in their late teens, 20s & 30s, were taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
