Symbolically, it marks the end of the extreme heat of peak summer and heralds the approach of cooler conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-3-RVU3PDCBRNGXLN5MICHJL4FFXE\">According to Arab folklore, the night \u201ccools down\u201d when \u201cSuhail rises\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-4-O7KRC5UKD5E4JKOC4GJ2XRUME4\">Known to astronomers as Canopus, Suhail is a giant, yellowish-white star in the constellation Carina, about 313 light-years from Earth.
