Months after the graduation of the second cohort of Amazon Web Services (AWS) re\/Start scholars<\/strong>\u2014sponsored by Chevron Philippines<\/strong> and delivered in collaboration with Edukasyon.ph<\/strong>\u2014a majority of the 50 graduates have successfully transitioned into the workforce, marking a significant step forward in their professional journeys.<\/p>\n

\"\"AWS re\/Start graduates\u2019 step into tech roles with in-demand digital skills.<\/p>\n

AWS re\/Start<\/strong> is a cohort-based workforce development program designed to prepare unemployed and underemployed individuals for entry-level cloud careers<\/strong>. The program equips learners with foundational knowledge in cloud computing, networking, storage, security, databases, and programming<\/strong>, while Edukasyon.ph provides job placement support by connecting graduates with local and international employers.<\/p>\n

Just three months after completing the program<\/strong>, 62% of the scholars (31 graduates)<\/strong> have secured employment across diverse organizations\u2014ranging from multinational corporations and government agencies to startups and non-profits<\/strong>. Notable employers include Samsung Research Philippines, CarParts.com, Fujitsu Singapore, Kyndryl Philippines, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).<\/p>\n

Of those employed, 80.64% are now working with Philippine-based organizations<\/strong>, while 19.36% have landed remote roles with international companies<\/strong>. Graduates have pursued careers in software development, systems and network infrastructure, data analysis, training and facilitation, business and program management, cloud support, quality assurance, and testing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One of the graduates, Maria Adelide dela Cruz<\/strong>, shared how the program transformed her career path:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I love most about the AWS re\/Start program is how it brought me closer to a career I once thought was out of reach. As a career shifter, it served as my guide toward the right path. While there\u2019s still a long journey ahead, being on track gives me a sense of pride and fulfillment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chevron Philippines expressed pride in the scholars\u2019 achievements and reaffirmed its commitment to empowering communities:<\/p>\n
