Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0has fuelled health concerns after he appeared to \u201cslur\u201d his words while announcing a significant rollback of federal fuel standards.\u00a0On Wednesday (December 3), the US president, 79,\u00a0announced that he has rescinded the programme put in place by the Biden administration. The scheme\u00a0aimed at encouraging the sale of electric vehicles.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The plans, proposed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will reduce the fuel economy requirements for models made between 2022 and 2031. The fuel economy requirements are the standards that regulate how far our vehicles can travel on a gallon of fuel.<\/p>\n

During a press conference at the Oval Office, Trump was joined by the heads of three major US car manufacturers \u2013 Ford, Stellantis, and GM \u2013 who hailed the move as a \u201cwin for common sense\u201d.<\/p>\n

This is the latest step by the Republican party to make it easier to sell petrol vehicles and disincentivise EV production. He told reporters: \u201cUnder the new rules issued today by Secretary Duffy, the Department of Transportation will rescind the Biden fuel economy prices.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I hate to say that because they were really not economy, they were anti-economy. They were horrible that they were doing to the costs and actually making the car much worse.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the announcement hit the airwaves, viewers flocked to social media to share their concerns about the politician, who was spotted making simple errors despite having the speech in front of him to read.<\/p>\n

One user wrote: \u201cBREAKING: Trump slurred his words and mangled a basic line while READING it in front of his face: \u2018…will rescind the Biden fuel economy prices\u2019. He meant FUEL ECONOMY STANDARDS. Trump is not well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another agreed: \u201cOh, Christ. Slurring \u2018prices\u2019 for \u2018standards\u2019 off a script, while stuffing those bandaged paws out of sight like he\u2019s fresh off an IV bender. This isn\u2019t decline \u2013 it’s dereliction.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third pondered: \u201cI think he\u2019s on some sort of medical treatment. He looks like this for a few days about every 3 to 4 weeks over the past few months. His eyes are small, beady, and bloodshot.\u201d<\/p>\n

These concerns come after the White House revealed details of Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s recent medical evaluation involving a scan of his cardiovascular system and abdomen.<\/p>\n

Trump underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan in October, which was confirmed in a memo from his doctor, Sean P Barbabella. The White House physical wrote that the cardiovascular and abdominal imaging was \u201cperfectly normal\u201d.<\/p>\n
